Former movie star Duch Sophea filed for divorce

Former movie star Duch Sophea (pictured) has filed for a divorce from her well to do husband, Mr. Nov Seiha who is a police officer, with the Teuk Thla district authority, reports everyday.com.
Mr. Tan Navin, Governor of Teuk Thla district in Phnom Penh, told Angkor Thom magazine on 2nd May that both Duch Sophea and her husband came to him asking him to annul their 8-month old marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. "They came to me and asked me to help them prepare a divorce contract. But I replied to them that the district authority only have the authority to act as a witness to the divorce, but the divorce and asset settlements are the responsibility of the court. But they told me that they don't have any problems with the asset settlements because there are no claims for any property settlements because their marriage has not been registered so they want to settle a divorce at the district level and I agreed to act as a witness to their divorce", he said.
Governor Tan Navin added that both Ms. Duch Sophea and her husband, who had one young son together, did not reveal the exact reason for their divorce.
Duch Sophea has entangled in many scandals and controversies during the course of her film career, including deliberately crashing her luxury Lexus into a police blockade and a slap on the face of a young student who had an altercation with her brother. In 2006, the Cambodian People's Party and Mr. Hun Sen had accused her and Prince Ranariddh of having a secret love affair, a charge vehemently denied by Prince Ranariddh.
